MESSAGE FROM THE ABDF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The III Rio de Janeiro International Congress of Tax Law, whose theme is “Tax Assessment, Internationalization and Perspectives” is held at a time the country is becoming an important player in the international economic scenario. In this context, a broad discussion on taxation with renowned tax lawyers and members of the Judiciary is extremely important.
According to this outlook, the Congress proposes to debate the development of taxation, going beyond traditional issues and approaching effectiveness in the most relevant economic segments based on a developmentalist stand without losing track of the legal matters and safety of taxation.
Speakers will lecture on the main trends of Tax Law, legislative innovations, the most recent court decisions, all of them under two perspectives: one that affects the main economic segments, based on their peculiarities; and the tax system as a whole, enabling participants to identify difficulties and possible solutions resulting from the complex Brazilian Tax System. Within this context, the event also proposes to approach the tax systems of other countries and their intersection with international entities, such as the World’s Trade Organization – WTC, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – OECD and with conventions to avoid double taxation.
Thus, the goal of the III Rio de Janeiro International Tax Law Congress is to be as successful as the prior events, enabling an organized and science-based discussion of current issues regarding taxation, joining the academic community, magistrates and professionals and providing an opportunity for participants to examine the solutions proposed for the different topics of the Program.
